Refresher Training
Unfortunately there is no single answer to the duration that an Offshore Survival course is recognised for. In Australia this decision is determined by individual operating companies risk assessments. There is also precedence which is accepted by the industry regulators and this varies between two and four years. As far as OPITO is concerned, they will allow an individual to refresh a BOSIET or TBOSIET course within a four-year period. However, this duration is a maximum time frame and the actual refresher period is still dictated by each country's legislation or company requirements.
IFAP is accredited to run the OPITO approved Refreshers, FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training) and TFOET (Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training) courses. These courses are run every Monday or as demand requires.
