AMSA

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is a statutory authority established under the Australian Maritime Safety Authority Act 1990 (the AMSA Act). AMSA’s principal functions are promoting maritime safety and protection of the marine environment, preventing and combating ship-sourced pollution in the marine environment, providing infrastructure to support safety of navigation in Australian waters and providing a national search and rescue service to the maritime and aviation sectors.

APPEA

The Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) is the peak national body representing Australia’s oil and gas exploration and production industry. APPEA works with Australian governments to help promote the development of the nation’s oil and gas resources in a manner that maximises the return to the Australian industry and community. APPEA also aims to secure regulatory and commercial conditions that enable member companies to operate safely, sustainably, and profitably.

NOPSEMA

NOPSEMA is a Commonwealth Statutory Agency.  The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia’s independent expert regulator for health and safety, environmental management, structural and well integrity for offshore petroleum facilities and activities in Commonwealth waters.

SEACARE

Seacare Authority works with the Australian maritime industry to reduce the human and financial costs of workplace injury, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of maritime industry workers. Seacare is a national scheme of occupational health and safety (OHS), rehabilitation and workers’ compensation arrangements which applies to defined seafaring employees and – in relation to OHS – defined third parties.

WORKSAFE

WorkSafe is a division of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) and its role is the regulation of workplace safety and health in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 (the OSH Act). The principal objective of the occupational safety and health (OSH) laws is to promote and secure the safety and health of people at the workplace.
