This course is designed for persons who may be required to provide, co-ordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings. Prior to the face to face training there is a pre-course online study component. We recommend you allow a day to complete this.
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Respond in an emergency situation
- Apply appropriate first aid procedures
- Coordinate first aid activities until arrival of medical assistance
- Communicate details of the incident
- Evaluate the incident

Participants are required to complete an online assessment prior to attendance on the course. Upon arrival, course participants will complete a theory assessment. Once deemed competent participants can continue with the practical training.
It is recommended for participants to have had previous first aid training.
Successful completion of the assessment requirements, will provide participants with a Statement of Attainment issued by SETS (RTO Code 52334) for HLTAID006 – Provide advanced first aid.
There is a maximum number of 12 participants per program.
This course can be conducted at IFAP’s North Lake (WA) training facility or at any facility that has a suitable classroom and training area.
