This course is designed for those experienced workers actively engaged in the Oil and Gas drilling or production industry working towards attaining a CSTP and meeting the requirements of one year active engagement within the last two years.

The program focuses on the demonstration of safety behaviours identified as being essential in the oil and gas industry.

Persons wishing to undertake the CSTP for Experienced Workers must meet the requirements of an experienced worker.
NOTE: An experienced worker is “anyone who has been actively engaged in the oil or gas drilling or production industry for at least one year within the last two years, and who has been through a site induction process and undertaken formal safety training.”
On successful completion of the course and workplace assessment, lodged within 12 Months, a Common Safety Training Program Card will be issued through APPEA (Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association).
NOTE: If not already employed in the oil and gas industry, course participants have 12 months from the completion of training to have started the workplace demonstration component. If the participant has not found work in the oil and gas industry after 12 months they will be required to undertake the one-day CSTP refresher course.
