The mandated Common Safety Training Program (CSTP) is an industry requirement for all newly employed or contracted entrants into the offshore oil and gas industry. To gain a basic level of understanding and an awareness of the hazards encountered when working on offshore installations and the safety regime and safety management systems in place to control and mitigate those hazards.
The above dates cover the CSTP component of this course only. The TBOSIET component of the course will run on a Monday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Thursday. This course will need to be completed over two separate weeks.

Successful completion of the assessment requirements will provide participants with an IFAP photo ID card, registration onto the OPITO database and an OPITO Certificate.
Note: If not already employed in the oil and gas industry, course participants have 12 months from the completion of training to have started the workplace demonstration component. If the participant has not found work in the oil and gas industry after 12 months they will be required to undertake the one-day CSTP refresher course.
Light lunches, morning and afternoon teas are provided. For the in-class session covered footwear is essential. Overalls, hard hats, safety glasses and hearing protection is provided.
Please bring your own pair of safety boots or enclosed footwear.
