The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to be able plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up elevating work platform, operate elevating work platform and shut down and secure elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).

This unit is based on the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work and requires the operator to be able to:

- Set up elevating work platform
- Operate elevating work platform
- Shut down and secure elevating work platform

Participants must be at least 18 years of age and can use the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk as specified in the competency standards.
Successful completion of the assessment requirements will provide participants with a statement of attainment issued by STES (RTO Code 50091) for TLILIC2005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).
