Overview
This course aims to refresh participants with the techniques, methods and problems associated with the launch, operation and recovery of fast rescue boat including rescue techniques for personnel in the water.

Course Outcomes
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Maintain the fast rescue boat for operations
- Prepare fast rescue boat and crew for operations
- Take charge of a fast rescue boat
- Respond to boat, equipment and crew emergencies or malfunctions
- Locate and retrieve casualties
- Recover the fast rescue boat

Participants must have completed the Fast Rescue Boat Operator course prior and must be fit to undertake the physical components of the training as they will be asked to sign a medical declaration upon registration.
NOTE: To able to apply to AMSA for endorsement, participants will also be required to produce a letter from their company to certify that they have served on a vessel, and operated a Fast Rescue Boat on that vessel, for a total period of at least 3 months in the last five years.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be provided with:
- A certificate of attendance
- An AMSA Course Completion statement, issued accordance with Marine Order 70 (Seafarer certification) 2014, for Continued Competence for Holders of Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats (subject to pre-requisite)
NOTE: To able to apply to AMSA for a Proficiency in fast rescue boats (STCW Convention, as amended) endorsement, participants will also be required to produce a letter from their company to certify that they have served on a vessel, and operated a Fast Rescue Boat on that vessel, for a total period of at least 3 months in the last five years.
