On completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Plan and prepare for fire team operations
  • Fight or contain fires
  • Finalise the operation
  • identifying and apply hazard and potential hazard procedures
  • applying technical fire operational information
  • applying isolation and tagging procedures
  • selecting and wearing appropriate protective clothing and appliances
  • identifying hazardous situation required responses
  • applying evacuation procedures
  • applying firefighting techniques
  • demonstrates completion of conducting fire team operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:fighting or containing fires including:
  • selecting appliances and equipment appropriate to the fire circumstances
  • continually monitor conditions in the fire area and modify firefighting techniques/applications
  • communicating with team members finalising operations including:
  • Isolating, roping-off, securing and monitoring fire area
  • avoiding fire recurrence by:
  • watering
  • raking down
  • chemical application

 

Successful completion of the assessment requirements, will provide participants with a statement of attainment issued by SETS (RTO Code 52334) for RIIERR201E Conduct fire team operations

There is a maximum number of 12 participants per program.
