Overview

The program covers all aspects of emergency preparedness, from understanding human behaviour characteristics during emergencies, to assessing risk and effectively planning for all types of emergencies within a workplace. This course has theoretical and practical components that participants must successfully complete.

Course Outcomes

On completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of:

  • Warden duties and responsibilities
  • ECO team selection and process
  • Emergency procedures and policies
  • Evacuation procedures and exercises
  • Fire safety installations in a building
  • Different types of emergencies
  • Use of fire extinguishers and hose reels
  • Fire prevention

 

This program complies with Australian Standard AS 3745:2002 Emergency control organisation and procedures for buildings, structures and workplaces.

Successful completion of the assessment requirements will provide participants with a statement of attainment issued by SETS (RTO Code 52334) for PUAWER005B Operate as part of an emergency control organisation.

OTHER INFO

There is a maximum number of 12 participants per program.

This course is also available in a combined Warden Training / Fire Extinguisher one day course.

This course can be conducted at IFAP’s North Lake (WA) training facility or at any facility that has a suitable classroom and training area.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
