This course is designed for those who work on vessels or offshore facilities that have a free fall life boat.

Overview

This course provides participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out actions to be taken prior to, during and after the evacuation or abandonment from a vessel or installation. The course includes an introduction, craft overview, crew roles and responsibilities, mustering, boarding and strapping in followed by a lifeboat launch.

Course Outcomes

On completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Respond to emergency alarms, muster and prepare for boarding
  • Board lifeboat, secure harness, follow coxswain and crew instructions

PRE-REQUISITES

Participants must be fit to undertake physical components of the training and will be asked to sign a medical declaration upon course registration.

ON-COMPLETION

On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Overalls for practical exercises and morning or afternoon tea are provided. A maximum of ten participants per course program.
