This course provides participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out actions to be taken prior to, during and after the evacuation or abandonment from a vessel or installation. The course includes an introduction, craft overview, crew roles and responsibilities, mustering, boarding and strapping in followed by a lifeboat launch.
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Respond to emergency alarms, muster and prepare for boarding
- Board lifeboat, secure harness, follow coxswain and crew instructions
Participants must be fit to undertake physical components of the training and will be asked to sign a medical declaration upon course registration.
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
Overalls for practical exercises and morning or afternoon tea are provided. A maximum of ten participants per course program.
