The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve the Front End Loader competencies specified in the national guidelines for the Operation of Loadshifting Equipment and Other Types of Specified Equipment [NOHSC:7019(1992)].
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Conduct routine safety checks on front end loader controls and equipment
- Plan the work
- Have sound knowledge of engineering principles and stability
- Use attachments and accessories
- Shift the load
- Handle a truck
- Shutdown equipment in a safe manner
- Secure the worksite
Course participants must be 18 years of age, be able to read and use the English language at a level that is appropriate to the safe use and operation of the particular equipment as specified in the competency standards.
Participants do not need any previous experience in operating a front end loader, however participants must be physically able to operate and maintain front end loading operations.
Successful completion of the assessment requirements, will provide participants with a certificate of attendance.
