This course has been designed to update the skills and knowledge for those elected Safety and Health Representatives who have attended the introductory training program.
The course also provides additional skills and knowledge to elected Safety and Health Representatives so they can continue to adequately represent employees and effectively participate in an organisation’s safety management program.
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Reinforce the objectives and strategies outlined in the State’s Occupational Safety and Health Legislation
- Access hazard information and apply realistic controls to the workplace
- Gain the ability to research and formulate an informative short talk for co-workers on specific hazards
- Identify barriers to effective performance of the role and function of the Safety and Health Representative and formulate processes for overcoming the barriers
